Summer 2010 Trial Results

The only thing I forgot this past weekend was a camera. I have no pictures of anything (I do have one). A bunch of folks were snapping away while the dogs were on the podium. It was a fantastic turnout, we met a whole lot of new people, I think every one enjoyed the day and the weekend. A number of new folks walked braces Saturday during the Shooting Dog stake. There were a mess of folks at dinner and it went off well. I want to thank all of you who brought deserts and dishes to pass. It was a nice finish for to a great day.The weather couldn't have been better (for August) This trial ran as smooth as any trial I have been part of planning. Thanks to all of you for helping. Bernie Baumann, Tom Vanecek and Ron Levitan for marshalling every brace both days with a bit of help from others along the way. Diane Wheelock, Rich Hollister and Chris Demattio keeping the trucks moving. Jenny Hollister for wrangling a fine stable of horses. Kit Foster running the Derby stake. Chris, Ron, Bernie and Deb Levitan for getting back Saturday afternoon and having that fine dinner ready for everybody when the day was complete.
The Judges put a long day in the saddle. Shooting Dog, Dave D'Hulster and Russ Gingras were saddled from 7 AM to 7:30 PM with only a short break for lunch. Greg Hilla and Neville Knowles watched 8 braces of Derby, but it took the better part of the day with many of the handlers competing in SD.
On Sunday the Hunting Dog judges looked at 16 braces and this event ended about 6 PM. Thanks to Rich Hollister and Fritz Heller.

The Hunting Dog Classic had a unique group of winners. Five different breeds were named to placements. Gordon Setter, Pointer (looking a lot like a shorthair) a Small Munsterlander, a Setter and a Brittany. I checked the Small Munsterlander Clubs website, nothing posted in the Forum for this placement. http://www.smallmunsterlander.info/
