2012 Spring Trial Details
Current info. Dinner plans for Friday and additional schedule detail will be added as the trial date approaches.
Important to note that we have held the entry fees at the current rate since the spring trial of 2008. We have cut no corners thru out these 5 yeas and continue to provide hospitality, awards and a well organized event. Purina is a big part of our success, but none of it could be accomplished without the support we receive from all of the participants and their families.
Thank you

Michigan Coverdog of the Year Mid Season Standings
Jan 31 edit update;
Over the last 2 days I received updated information and have made the proper adjustments to the Derby Dog of the Year Mid Season points.
Good luck to all
Mid season 2011-2012 Michigan Coverdog Dog of the Year standings. My apologies on the format and the difficulty to read. I tried a number of methods to clean it but this is the best I achieved with the time I allocated. To be eligible for Dog of the Year a dog must enter 3 stakes of member clubs and place in 2 stakes during the year of eligibility. A deep dive will be completed if necessary at the end of the season. Rivers Edge Sadie, the leader in shooting dog, has met this requirement. The Grand National Grouse Championship and the Amateur Grouse Championship, run at Gladwin this past fall, do not count in point totals for Michigan Coverdog Dog of the Year.

Region 4 Walking Championship is Coming to the Woods
Happy New Year all
The Amateur Club dates are listed to the right. I will add the dates for the other clubs as I receive them.
For 2012 the Amateur Club has been picked to host the Region 4 Amateur Walking Championship. We move to the woods of the Gladwin Field Trial Area to run a wild bird trial, a grouse and woodcock championship. For the past 5 years this Championship has run at the Highland Field Trial area in southeast Michigan, hosted by the Grand Valley Club under the direction of Jim and Connie Cipponeri. The two clubs mentioned in conjunction with the Region Directors are in discussions to set a rotating schedule for this Regional Championship. As the details are solidified they will be reported right here.
Our spring trial is slated for the Easter holiday weekend. Because of this schedule we are moving the stake ahead one day and will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday leaving Easter Sunday for family and faith.
The Judd Kinne Shooting Dog Classic will run Thursday and Friday, Chuck Pagano Puppy Classic will run Friday, the Chester Halley Memorial Derby will run Saturday and at the same time we will run our Hunting Dog Stake. The format for Hunting Dog will again run as a single course with native grouse and woodcock supplemented with released quail. This format and venue have proven to be very popular the last 2 years and the club has has tremendous turnout for the event.
More info will be posted as judges are identified.
Thank you for all the support in past trials. This doesn't happen without input, hard work and dedication from all the participants, volunteers, family and friends.
